Stalybridge Carnival 2015
The Stalybridge carnival is an annual event which dates back to 1976, it draws people from miles around to join the local community in its celebrations. The festival is most famous for its decorated floats which weave through the streets of Stalybridge in all their colourful splendour.
The parade ends in the grounds of Cheetham Park, Stalybridge's own green, peaceful oasis. Where you will find a funfair and assortment of stalls offering everything you'd expect from fudge to face-painting.
Cheetham Park is also where they hold and judge the infamous 'Courts of Queens' pageant.
I was commissioned by the festival committee to capture the 2015 carnival as it unfolded.
