Make room for the mushrooms

Apologies for the title, it'll only make sense if you're of a certain age and recall the song in the mushroom advert.... 

I believe it's important for your photography to take a step back, and take some time to try something a little different. 

That's exactly what I did for the images below, I made a point of moving away from my usual subject matter and focus on capturing images of something that I would ordinarily just walk by and not give a second thought.

Also as a bonus, Willego made an appearance to pose for some shots.... he's such a Fungi (sorry, I couldn't let a pun like that go by unused).

All in all I spent 20 minutes or so capturing these images, it really makes a big difference when you go out knowing exactly what you're taking pictures of rather than spontaneous captures (particularly with static subject matter).

I have to say I'm really glad I did the exercise, it's amazing what you see when you actually take the time to look!!

Ok, ok, I can't help it - it's no use I'll have to show you the advert that's to blame for the title..
